Reflections on Dialogue Journals
Dialogue journals (where teacher and student write back and forth to
each other) humanize and personalize the learning process. They are especially
valuable in math classes because they promote integrated learning, the forming
of connections, in a subject where the tendency can be to keep skills and
insights compartmentalized.
This talk will summarize what I have learned from doing dialogue
journals with students over the last three years.
