Virtual Reality Modeling Language using Silicon Graphics 
Workstations
Through a recent National Science Foundation Instrumentation and 
Laboratory
Improvement grant, Transforming 3D Space with Virtual Reality Modeling 
Language
(VRML).  Among other things, the grant funded several Silicon 
Graphics, Inc.,
(SGI) Unix workstations.  These workstations combine the power of Unix 
with a
friendly graphical user interface.  They come bundled with many high 
end Web
development tools for VRML, Java, HTML, C++, database connectivity, 
image
editing, video editing, and audio editing.  Several of these tools 
will be
demonstrated during the colloquium, with a special emphasis on VRML.
