Mathematics Department Scholarship Application
Undergraduate mathematics majors and elementary education majors with a mathematics concentration may apply for a scholarship through the Mathematics Department. The application deadline has been extended to Monday, March 26, 2007.

Funeral Arrangements for Dr. Jim Myers
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home in Indiana. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Graystone Presbyterian Church in Indiana, with the Rev. Richard Hurley officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Graystone Presbyterian Church, 640 Church St., Indiana, PA 15701, or to a memorial scholarship fund being established with IUP's mathematics department. Contact the department office for details.

Sarah Romasco Wins Soccer Honors
Sarah Romasco, freshman Mathematics Education major, was named 2006 Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year by the PSAC West Athletic Conference, she was chosen for both the 2006 All-PSAC Women's Soccer Team and the 2006 NCAA Division II All-Northeast Region Team.

2006 Outstanding Contributions to PCTM Award
Dr. Janet Walker and Dr. Tom Short received a joint award from the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics for their outstanding contributions to the organization. They were honored for their editorship of the PCTM Magazine.
