Inside the Coal Mine

The mine is an underground city, complete with main streets and side alleys.  In
the front of the mine, where the coal is being actively mined, the height from floor
to roof is about five or six feet, whereas the portions having been already mined are higher and comfortable enough to stand upright in.  Below are some snapshots taken
in various parts of the mine:

Operation of a continuous mining machine at the head of a mine.

Three employees are taking a small break beside another miner.

A mine safety technician is testing for large amounts of toxic or flammable gas.
