The project that we are currently working on is to provide a 3D world of downtown Indiana. We plan to create a walk through tour of Indiana. Our world we include the more important buildings and sites of downtown Indiana.
Downtown Indiana Timeline
Week One- Meet with Jeff Tobin, and discuss perspective ideas for project, and deadlines.
Week Two-Begin web page design, present ideas to LS499 class and receive feedback. Take pictures with digital camera of the actual Downtown district. Present ideas a second time, and show progress made.
Week Three-Start to move digital images onto the web page, and begin to build some VRML images. We plan to first build a street and then follow up with some detailed buildings along the road.
Week Four-Continue working on VRML images and begin to make more detailed buildings along the road, such as the Henry Hall building, and the Court House.
Week Five-Complete VRML design and prepare
for final presentation to class.
Notes: Depending on the time we have the VRML
design should include a detailed image of Philly street from 4th to 9th.
The amount of buildings that will be detailed depends on the amount of
time allowed for this project. There is also a chance of us including
some sounds, but again it all depends on time spent developing the actual
VRML image.
11/22/98-Since the start of the project the group has met with Jeff Tobin and discussed his plans for the page. In addition the group has begun concstrution of the web page itself. We are also in the process of downloading pictures we took of the buildings located in the downtown area. Once completed those will be added into the scrapbook. Our final goal will be to build a VRML model of Philly street itself.
