April 14 Progress Report

  • Goal: Graphics/audio/3D files completed
    • As we continued working on our model of the South Campus, we realized that it wouldn't be effective to complete our graphics, audio and VRML objects libraries because we weren't always aware of what objects we would need to place in the rooms of the President's house. Consequently, we have decided to search for graphics, audio files and objects as they become necessary and upload them into our libraries as we find them.
  • Goal: Elevation grid completed.
    • A program to extract the needed coordinates was created, and these numbers were then used to plot the elevation grid. Additional refinements will still be needed; however, much of the grid has been completed.
  • Goal: Additional details of buildings begun.
    • After reviewing the blueprints of the President's residence as a group, first floor rooms were allocated to each group member. At the present time, work has been completed on the family room and kitchen, dining room, and foyer. Additional modeling of the interior of the President's residence will continue. Research is being done into the best way to connect the completed rooms.
  • Goal: Landscaping details begun.
    • After careful consideration, we realized that it would be wiser for us to finish modeling the interior of the President's residence before we attempt to replicate the house's landscaping. This goal will be completed as soon as the elevation grid is finalized.
