President's Residence

Since 1875, almost all of IUP's presidents have called a two-story apartment within Sutton Hall their home. By 1999, however, future presidents will live in a spacious new home on the South Campus Extension where they will be able to comfortably entertain alumni, legislators and other important guests.

The house's exterior will resemble Sutton, Breezedale and McElhaney Halls. Circular and cathedral windows will be featured along with brick and wood columns much like those students are familiar with at Sutton Hall.

A spacious kitchen and dining room designed to seat twelve guests will be found on the first floor along with the foyer, family room and laundry room. A handicap-accessible bedroom will also be located on the first floor.

The second floor will contain two guest bedrooms, the master bed (with adjoining study) and a sitting room as well as three bathrooms. Storage space will be found on the third floor along with additional space in the basement. The basement will also contain a utility room and bathroom. A two-car garage is also planned.

The cost of the three-story brick home will not exceed $650,000.
