MATH 281 Project Requirements

Project Proposal (10 points)

You will need to submit a written project proposal by Friday, March 28, 2008. Your proposal should describe what you will produce, what you expect to learn from doing this project, and the primary mathematical and Mathematica tools that you will need to complete the project. Come to my office to discuss your project idea with me, before you write your proposal. I need to determine if your project has an appropriate scope and level of difficulty.

Mathematica Notebook (150 points)

At the completion of your project, you will create a Mathematica notebook that describes the project and its importance, and presents your results. The notebook should be a self-contained document, so that someone reading it will understand the project and your results. The Mathematica notebook must be completed before you give your class presentation.

Class Presentation (40 points)

You will give a 20-minute presentation in class on your project.

Your grade for all components will be based on both the quality of the content and the clarity of your presentation.
